Why we exist
Jackson has excellent builders. Almost all of them are pointed at ground up custom homes, because that is where the money is. Star Valley has good builders too, and most of them will not drive the canyon.
Which leaves a real gap. If you have a kitchen to gut, an addition to frame, a shop to put up or a space to finish before a lease starts, you are too small to interest the big shops and too big for a handyman. So you call five contractors, hear back from one, and wait three weeks for a number written on the back of an envelope.
Swiss Mountain Builders is built for exactly that job. We are in Etna, which is about the same distance from Afton as it is from Jackson. That is on purpose. It means a job in Star Valley and a job in Jackson Hole get the same crew and the same schedule, and neither one is a favour we are doing you.

Scope, price, schedule, draw schedule and change orders. If it is not written down it is not agreed.

Taking a job we cannot schedule properly hurts you more than it helps us. We would rather refer you out.

The work
We are not only a framing crew.
That is a stair stringer. One log, shaped, with every tread mortised into it by hand. It took longer than a stick built stair and it will outlive the house. There is more of it on the projects page, with the cost and the schedule attached to each job.
We do not lead with craft on this site because craft is what every builder claims. We lead with the price and the schedule, because those are the parts people actually get burned on. The craft is still there.

Carried on our crew and required of every subcontractor we bring onto your property.
Lien releases
Provided with each draw, so you are never exposed to a sub who says they were not paid.
Written warranty
One year on workmanship, plus whatever the manufacturer carries on materials. Terms are in the contract.
